There is a difference between the wisdom of man and the wisdom of God. Consider these eleven facts about God’s wisdom.
1. Happy is the man who finds wisdom.
Proverbs 3:13 (NKJV) “Happy is the man who finds wisdom, And the man who gains understanding;”
2. Wisdom is more valuable than rubies.
Proverbs 3:15 (NKJV) “She is more precious than rubies, And all the things you may desire cannot compare with her.”
3. Get wisdom more than knowledge!
Proverbs 4:7 (NKJV) “Wisdom is the principal thing; Therefore get wisdom. And in all your getting, get understanding.”
4. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom.
Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV) “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.”
5. Wisdom from God is pure
James 3:17 (NKJV) “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”
6. Wisdom from God is peaceable.
James 3:17 (NKJV) “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”
7. Wisdom from God is gentle.
James 3:17 (NKJV) “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”
8. Wisdom from God is full of mercy.
James 3:17 (NKJV) “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”
9. Wisdom from God is without hypocrisy.
James 3:17 (NKJV) “But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.”
10. God gives wisdom to those who ask.
James 1:5 (NKJV) “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.”
Consider the whole James passage:
James 3:13–18 (NKJV) “Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there. But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy. Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.”
