Stop sinning. It sounds easy enough, and in many ways, it is extremely easy to stop sinning… if you want to. The problem is that we are comfortable in our sin. We like doing things our way and don’t want to submit to God’s authority. But submission is what God requires of us.
If you’re not submitted to God, you’re living in disobedience. And disobedience leads to all sorts of problems and heartache. So if you want to avoid those things, submit your life to God and trust Him. He knows what’s best for you and will never lead you astray.
You must yield yourself to the Holy Spirit.
Psalm 31:3 (NKJV) “For You are my rock and my fortress; Therefore, for Your name’s sake, Lead me and guide me.”
You can try to do things on your own, excluding God, but it’s ultimately a disastrous decision.
Proverbs 16:9 (NKJV) “A man’s heart plans his way, But the Lord directs his steps.”
Proverbs 16:33 (NKJV) “The lot is cast into the lap, But its every decision is from the Lord.”
Proverbs 19:21 (NKJV) “There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the Lord’s counsel—that will stand.”
Remain open to the Holy Spirit. Let go of your sinful ways and submit to God today. Don’t settle for second best. But run after God’s best! It’s the best decision you’ll ever make. Trust me. I know from experience. Submitting my life to God has improved everything, and I know it can do the same for you. Do it today. God is waiting with open arms. All you have to do is take that first step of obedience and trust Him. He’ll do the rest.
I hope this encourages you to submit your life to God if you haven’t already. It’s the best thing you could ever do. And if you have submitted your life to God, keep yourself abiding in Christ and don’t turn back. Remember, God is always with you and will never leave or forsake you. So press on and trust Him all the way. He’s got this! And He’s got you!
