When it comes to Christian service, God will let you know what you need to do. He is always the Initiator—which means that He is drawing people into service, and sending them out to serve. God is ready to use you and when He enlists you in ministry, the work you do at church, at home, in your neighborhood, at your job all makes an eternal difference. You are doing things that are far greater than the span of your life can contain, because God the Initiator has called you and is using you today!

Jeremiah 33:3 (NKJV) “‘Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know.’

I know there is this burden that many carry as they worry about what they are supposed to do. It’s easy to take something so gloriously, like the sovereign leading of the Lord and make it a burden as if we will miss it. God is faithful. He can arrange for you and me to be exactly where He wants us. If you question that thought just consider the work of God surrounding Jonah. Jonah made a free will choice to run away. God made a free will choice to send a ‘great’ fish after him! While we will not be swallowed up by a fish, we will be led, guided, and helped by God to be where we need to be doing what He wants us to do! Isn’t that amazing?!

John 15:1–4 (NKJV) ““I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.”

If you’re not serving right now, you’re missing out on so much.  We too are missing out on how God wants to use you. Maybe you’re not sure where to help. Perhaps you needed to take a break and never came back. If you’re reading this today, it’s time to jump back in!

2 Chronicles 16:9a (NKJV) “For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him…”
